This blog is an experiment in shaping happiness by practicing looking for the positive things that are happening in my world and life. Being grateful for the little things as well as the big.

This was inspired by the book “The Happiness Advantage” by Shawn Achor. He outlines things you need to do to increase the likeliness of being happy. He lists study after study that proves this hypothesis and talks about the science of what happens in our brains when we are happy. The release of all the chemicals that go with being happy essentially make you the best you possible. More creative, more alert, more engaged, better problem solving, basically all the things that help you succeed are turned on in our brains when we’re happy. That’s quite an advantage.

So, he says to practice gratitude, relive positive things from our day, exercise, meditate, and do random acts of kindness.

I challenge you to explore the world with me through that lens. Share how it is going for you. While this is my experiment and journal of gratitude and positive things in my life, it will become richer with your interaction.
