The last 24 hours have been a bit disorienting; a 9 hour time change can do that to you. I decided I wasn’t even going to turn on the TV since the only stations in English are news or sports – and I’m not that in to sports.

I don’t know what time I went to bed last night but I woke up feeling refreshed and then figured out it was only 11:30. It was difficult to go back to sleep, so I turned on the bedside light and read for a bit. I fell asleep again and the next time I woke up I was sure I’d overslept. It took me awhile to figure out what clock I could believe. Now I know there is one on the TV – even if it is not on!

Today by afternoon I found myself falling asleep. I didn’t feel terribly tired, like I have before, this was more of I thought I was listening and then realized my eyes were shut and I didn’t know what was just said. I think I would have been okay if I could have had more water to drink.

So, a couple of fellows and I walked over to the grocery and picked up water for the rest of the week. I am so glad they were willing to walk there. While I feel very safe here, I didn’t want to walk through the underpasses after dark by myself. They are very well lit and close to the train station, still, as a woman I just don’t think it is smart to walk alone after dark. So I really got a chance to know these two colleagues. It was fun hearing about the basement project that has taken years and to hear about the 21 month old daughter of the of the other colleague. It was a great walk.

I”m grateful for the comfortable shoes I brought along. Even though the feet are a little swollen they still feel great.

I’m grateful for the water I bought. A lot cheaper than getting it out of the cafeteria tomorrow!

I’m grateful the Seahawks are going to the Superbowl. It makes it so much easier to live with the ‘Hawks fan at home!
