Today started the first full week of work. I am ready for it to seem long. But today went relatively quickly. It was time to go before I knew it. Then off to dinner with a colleague from out of town and part of the hometown crew. It was fun – although I might have talked more than my share. It was nice to learn about Tim and his history. Funny that we have a former employer in common – which led to a lot of conversation on that company. Very different divisions that we worked for, but we covered some the same territory. With all of that positive, happy day it was still nice to walk through the door, hear my husband yell ‘hello’ and see the mess, just as I left it. Home.
I am grateful for dinners and storytelling. I have been told I tell a story well, but I’m sure that isn’t always the case. I enjoy hearing a master weave the tale, holding you with rapt attention for the next detail.
I’m grateful for the people who make home worth coming to. The house will seem very quite when the college break is over and it is back to hubby, me, and the little cat.
I’m grateful for the people I work with. They are kind, considerate, intelligent, and interesting people. I’m grateful to have a job, but to have a place to go and do meaningful work on a worthwhile product is great. The best of it is, I’m working with people who I would choose to be friends with. How lucky can you get?
